    Perfect for a party!

Had a wild stag do here and it was just what we needed! The building's got character and the location's prime for exploring. Breakfast was solid too. Great spot for a fun trip.

    generous breakfast

Family with children, a solid choice

The breakfast was massive, like a feast, I mean—so many options, I was astonished! ! the owner Clark, he was a real gem, helped us out with the car parking situation and was super accommodating.

Sure, it wasn’t inexpensive, but still, I'd say it was decent enough for what we got.

The breakfast spread is impressively extensive, featuring everything from fresh cold meats to pancakes and a full cooked option. The spacious rooms come equipped with ample electric sockets, tea and coffee facilities, and TVs.

For those who prefer more modern accommodations, the decor feels dated and could use a refresh. I found the furniture somewhat worn, and while the beds were clean, they lacked plush comfort, which might not suit everyone’s taste. the guests can experience some noise from fellow travelers due to the building's older structure, but it largely depends on who’s around during your stay.

great access to iconic landmarks and beautiful parks

I had a fabulous stay, easily walking to the royal mile and the scottish national gallery, making it a perfect base for weekend strolls in the city. the staff were super friendly and the building itself is charming, nestled in a quiet area but still close to cafes and restaurants, making finding meals easy after a long day of exploration.

    Charming, Charming, Charming

I was absolutely enchanted by the unique charm of the accommodations! The high ceilings and stunning room decor, like those Monet prints, gave me serious art vibes. Plus, the personal touch from the owner, sharing interesting historical anecdotes, made my stay feel truly special!

    great view
    comfy beds
    outdated facilities
    poor wifi

the staff were super nice and went out of their way for a special request. the view from our window was amazin and the beds were real comfy, just the right firmness. lots of restaurants and pubs nearby, and it’s a nice walkable distance to the royal mile. you can also catch a bus easily if u prefer.

the hotel was a bit outdated and the dining area was closed, which was kinda disappointing. also, the wifi was really poor in our room.
